| Your Greatest Good |
 |
Selfish.
An interesting word, isn't it? So many times people feel guilty for taking time for themselves, or doing something extra for themselves. Our lives revolve around our kids, our spouses, our work, our parents, our pets... You get the idea. There's nothing wrong with that, but there might be something wrong with denying yourself the time and care you need to refresh yourself and take care of yourself.
What is in YOUR greatest and highest good? Who will take care of YOU if you don't? Remember that you also are deserving of your love.

Where to Start |
|
The Solution to Your Body's Pollution
The biggest part of taking care of yourself may be as simple as starting with "a shower on the inside". Through the food we eat, the water we drink, and the air we breathe as well as stress, vaccinations, and exposure to environmental toxins we take on more than we know. Yet we find that we take better care of our cars than we do ourselves. If our car needs a new air filter or oil filter, we get one. Unfortunately the filters in our bodies, like the liver, lungs and the kidneys, can't be so easily replaced. Our internal filters get "clogged" leaving our blood less than clean like the oil in our cars.
If you COULD take a shower on the inside, shouldn't you?

Ginger and Spice |
|

Ginger and Spice need a new home. These foster kitties are waiting for you!
Ginger is the long-hair male Tabby and likes to flirt.
Spice is the short-hair male Tabby with a John Wayne swagger. They are neutered and have been de-clawed.
They are 7-year old litter mates and are extremely attached to each other. Ginger and Spice need to be placed together. As they are VERY shy, they need a home with someone that can give them special attention to gain their trust.
They are currently in a foster home and look forward to a stable, carefree home environment.
If you would like to adopt this pair, or know of someone who would welcome them into their home, please contact Lynn at 503-245-3006

Dear Friend,
Welcome Spring with new beginnings! Although some people see the New Year as an opportunity to start something new, I'd like to suggest that every day is an opportunity to be open to the new experiences and people that come our way.
Are you ready for something different? What does this Spring have in store for you? Aside from yard clean up and taxes, please remember to take time to care for yourself. You deserve it! Please enjoy this issue of Rosemary's Solutions for Sustainable Wellness. I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,
Rosemary

Reiki... Universal Life Energy |
|
A powerful, yet gentle healing technique from Japan, Reiki is a wonderful tool I use to promote well being, and relaxation. It is used to treat the patient, not the condition or illness and since a Reiki practitioner does not use their own energy, but rather Universal Energy, it takes nothing away from the practitioner and is wonderful for both patient and practitioner. Reiki has been recognized as a powerful alternative therapy in hospitals and clinics.
"According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), Reiki is a form of complementary alternative medicine (CAM) that uses meridians or chakras, a form of therapeutic touch, and is based on Japanese energy medicine. The origin of the word Reiki illustrates its focus on spirituality and energy, as "Rei" means spirit and "Ki" means life force energy. The healing technique, created by Mikao Usui in the 1800s, is non-invasive and non-manipulative, which distinguishes Reiki from acupuncture and massage therapy."

Make Mine Chocolate |
|
News from Kathy Meyer, RVT
The American people have spoken:
Candy rabbits are preferred as Easter gifts over live rabbits by 20 to one!
It's getting closer to Easter and many people will be buying cute little bunnies for their kids only to get tired of them and "release" them either to a shelter, or worse, into the wild. Rabbits are NOT disposable pets and that they take just as much responsibility as a cat or dog.
Before you bring a pet rabbit into your home (or give as a gift) at EASTER, please consider these facts:
a.. Rabbits are NOT low-maintenance pets! They require just as much work as a dog or cat! b.. Rabbits can live 8 - 10 years - Sometimes LONGER!! c.. The necessary spay and neuter to prevent cancer and behavioral problems can cost $100 or more! d.. Not all rabbits enjoy being held - remember, they are prey animals so being lifted from the ground usually means death! e.. Pet rabbits CANNOT be set "free" - they have no survival skills like wild rabbits do!
This Easter, why not make it a CHOCOLATE bunny or a cuddly stuffed toy instead?
Help spread the word that rabbits are NOT disposable pets! For more information visit: Make Mine Chocolate!
