wellness home Dear Friend,
I remember my mom telling me that if we don't have our health, we don't have anything. Those words ring true for me today as I conscientiously share information and resources to promote good health for all our family members... pets too! This month please join me in steps to create the safest home environment as far as our health is concerned. As always, look for the links to take you to new articles and information that could make a difference in your life and for the ones you love.
                                         Yours in Good Health,

Complete Wellness for Your Home clean air

Clean Air

We can't live long without it, but what are we breathing in our homes? Off-gassing from glues, carpets, furniture, chemical cleaners and cookware to name a few.
1. Start breathing cleaner air by filtering the air in your home using HEPA filtration. Make sure your vacuum cleaner also has a HEPA filter.

2. Don't mask odors with chemical air fresheners that can cause more harm than good. You can help purify the air with essential oils that are safe for all members of your family. Contact me to find reliable sources for essential oils.

3. Eliminate the obvious culprits... smoke, chemical cleaners, wet areas that harbor molds, etc. Choose to skip the fabric protectors on furniture, drapes and carpet. You and your pets inhale all of that eventually.

Filtered Waterclean water

I've heard it said many times. Either you use a filter or you ARE the filter. Contaminants in tap water as well as bottled water accumulate in your body creating a burden for organs like the liver and kidneys. Using a filter that is effective at eliminating particulates and toxins helps to lighten the load. Drink water as nature intended it to be. Living water contains minerals, is pH balanced, is oxygenated and has an energy field that resonates with our bodies.

Safe for Children and Pets? Natural Health 4 Pets
Raise your hand if you pull weeds instead of spraying them, use natural pest control in and around the house instead of harsh pesticides, clean your home with water, baking soda and other safe compounds, and use safe and natural skin care products for your children, yourself and your pets. Hands still up? Hurray! If not, check these resources:

1. Mechanical cleaning instead of chemical cleaning..."Chemical cleaning requires that we wipe the areas we are cleaning with chemicals, leaving traces of chemicals behind that allow the surface to attract dirt and grow bacteria. The chemicals left behind on the surface are also absorbed into our bodies every time our skin contacts the surface, increasing our exposure to toxins.
Mechanical cleaning with ENJO fiber technology allows us to clean with just water, eliminating the need for chemicals.  This is accomplished by purpose designed fibers that are able to pick-up the dirt and bacteria from a surface with only water as the surfactant. With mechanical cleaning, because only water is added to the surface, we do not absorb cleaning chemicals into our system each time we touch the surface."Donna Baxter, President, ENJO
2. Natural Pest Control
Here's a terrific resource, especially as we get into garden season.
3. Natural Skin Care
What you put on your skin and on your pet's skin DOES matter. Start by reading the label of the products you are currently using.
Check with the Environmental Working Group:
Skin Deep database to rate your skin care products as well as
Eddie's Healthy Pet Tips to see what's safe and what's not.
