What is Health?Though modern
definitions of health state that there is an absence of disease, there may be
more to good health than what can be written. In fact, health is complex as it
involves so many aspects of our lives.
We might believe that health generally fades and fails over time. The truth is that there is much we can do to reverse signs of ill health, reverse signs of aging and reverse serious disease symptoms when we bring the body into balance with natural healing remedies. Balance requires practice, persistence and consistent use of supplements, detoxification, positive thoughts, nutritious foods and body movement. The connections between all of these modalities form a matrix of good health. In fact, improved health and continued health improvements, or what we call "health", is a balance of physical, mental and social well being.
Wouldn't it be nice if the new cells made by the body every day were fresh, healthy cells? Aren't they?
What Are Healthy Cells?Healthy
cells retain their genetic code, the very delicate DNA inside the nucleus of
every cell, and duplicate it nearly perfectly every time the cell divides.
However, DNA becomes damaged over time. Damage to cells and, in many cases, to
the cell DNA comes from radiation ever present in our environment, GMO foods,
toxins from pesticides and personal care products, processed foods, heavy
metals and so many other sources.
Healthy blood cells carry oxygen to other cells without fail. Healthy cells of the pancreas produce insulin with great precision in order to maintain correct blood sugar levels. Healthy cells of the brain fire messages flawlessly in order for us to think clearly. Healthy muscle cells perform every muscle action both voluntary and involuntary to do everything from heart beat to that perfect golf swing. Healthy cells of the immune system fight germs and disease with great accuracy and unrelenting strength. In other words, in a perfect world, health comes from the body's ability to create new, healthy cells every day. Old or damaged cells are replaced every day. Wouldn't it be nice if the replacements were as good as our first, youthful cells?
Disease SymptomsBy the time a serious diagnosis for disease is pronounced by your doctor you have likely already been experiencing signs of disease or symptoms for a long time. How could you have known? Most people may ignore, for example, weight loss as a symptom, feeling a little happier to shed a few pounds. Allergies and rashes may have been treated with over-the-counter medications, but persist for weeks or even years. Though an allergy may not seem so bad, it could be a warning sign of a body out of balance . . . one that is headed for bigger issues such as cancer if ignored. The truth is that for most people, serious diseases may be a surprise. But further examination may reveal that they have already been tolerating symptoms or even other diseases for a long time.
A person with an autoimmune disease, for example, is already experiencing difficulties with the immune system. Diabetes, asthma, arthritis and many others can be categorized as autoimmune. Autoimmune diseases can be found to effect every system in the body and every aspect of health including sleep, digestion, blood, specific organs and organ functions, with far-reaching effects. If the immune system is compromised, then how can it work effectively to fight cancer? It can't. Drugs that treat the symptoms generally don't work to heal the body.
