Q. What are some of the concerns we face with toxins in our environment?
A: According to the Center for Disease Control, studies which measure chemical exposure in large populations have found that:

Q. How can a person tell if he/ she has toxins?A: Diagnostic tests, some of which can be very expensive, can show a toxin profile indicating the presence of heavy metals and other toxins. However, functional imbalances such as allergies, inflammation, digestive upsets and other easily "managed" symptoms are also likely indicators of toxicity.

Q. What is Natural Cellular Defense? Waiora's Natural Cellular Defense has been clinically formulated to help support a healthy immune system, remove heavy metal toxins and balance your body's pH levels.* Waiora's Natural Cellular Defense is comprised of an activated, liquid form of a naturally‐occurring zeolite.
Q. What are zeolites? Natural zeolites form in nature as a result of a chemical reaction between volcanic lava and saline water. Zeolites have large open spaces or cages in their structures that form channels. These channels allow the easy movement of ions and molecules into and out of the structure. This ability puts zeolites in the class of materials known as "molecular sieves."
There are about 40 naturally occurring zeolites and over 100 synthetic zeolites. There are three different classes of zeolites with varying molecular chemical structures:
- Chain‐like structures whose minerals form acicular, or needle‐like, prismatic crystals ‐ as found in asbestos.
- Framework structures where the crystals are more equal in dimensions ‐ as found in chabazite.
- Sheet‐like structures where the crystals are flattened ‐ as found in clinoptilolite.
Another unique and important fact about zeolites is that they are one of the few negatively charged minerals found in nature. The natural properties of zeolites act as molecular sieves, or filtering agents, that attract and trap into them positively charged atoms, ions, and compounds, and can remove them from a system.
Q. Which zeolite do you use for the Natural Cellular Defense? We use naturally-occurring clinoptilolite in the Natural Cellular Defense.This particular zeolite has been used for over 800 years in traditional medicine to improve general health. It has been widely used in its raw form in places such as India, China and Russia. In the United States, zeolites have been used in water filtration, air purification, animal feed and even in fertilizers to keep the crops healthy. Now we're using zeolite as a dietary supplement after enhancing the natural capabilities with a proprietary activation technology.
Q. What is actually in this mineral clinoptilolite? Can it be found on the periodic table?
Zeolite is a mineral with a cage-like structure. It is created by aluminum and silica atoms that are trapped in small tetrahedra (pyramid-like structures) created by oxygen atoms. These pyramids form 8-sided and 10-sided rings that stack on top of each other to form channels. The aluminum is positively charged and the oxygen around it is negatively charged, giving the molecule a net negative charge. Zeolite is a very stable compound. For all practical purposes, zeolite is an invincible molecule.
Q. Can the aluminum found in the zeolite structure be absorbed into the body?No. The aluminum in the product is at the center of a tetrahedron (it's surrounded by tightly‐held oxygen atoms). It is not free to exchange into the system. So imagine you have a pyramid that's made of oxygen with aluminum in the center of that pyramid. It's what they call 'non‐exchangeable aluminum'. We have done studies where we have found that Natural Cellular Defense increased the excretion of additional aluminum, which means that the zeolite is pulling aluminum out of the body in addition to the aluminum contained in the product itself.
Q. Is there any possibility of the aluminum being released or causing harm?Absolutely not. The aluminum is in the middle of the tetrahedron of oxygen. So imagine you have a pyramid that's made of oxygen with aluminum in the center of that pyramid. It's what they call non‐exchangeable aluminum. Studies have been done where 100 percent of the aluminum was recaptured as it came out in fecal matter and urine from the patients. Additionally, it has been found that a patient would excrete additional aluminum, which means that the zeolite is pulling aluminum out of the body in addition to the aluminum contained in the product itself.
Q. How does Natural Cellular Defense work? The zeolite in the Natural Cellular Defense attracts and traps small, highly‐charged particles that fit into the pores and channels of the zeolite cage. This includes heavy metal toxins. The Natural Cellular Defense has been shown to remove mercury, lead, cadmium, arsenic and other heavy metals. Research has shown that it does help balance pH, which makes a more alkaline system. A slightly alkaline environment in the body helps to stabilize the immune system.
Q. Who needs to take Natural Cellular Defense? Everyone is exposed to heavy metal toxins on a daily basis in the air they breathe, the food they eat and the water they drink. In order to remove these toxins and maintain a clean and healthy body, everyone should take Natural Cellular Defense on a daily basis. We recommend the product for persons 18 years of age or older. People under the age of 18, pregnant women and children should consult their physicians prior to use.
Q. How is Natural Cellular Defense manufactured? The manufacturing facility itself is certified to be cGMP‐compliant (current‐Good Manufacturing Practices) by the FDA. GMP is an FDA (Food & Drug Administration) term for the Quality Control and Quality Assurance (QA/QC) procedures that are standard in the facility. This also includes training of the personnel, storage of materials and micro‐analysis of the product. The manufacturing process takes approximately five to seven days. Some of the finished product is sent for analysis using Thin‐Layer Chromatography (TLC) and High‐Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The product is also sent through a detailed micro‐analysis, where it is evaluated for any sort of contamination (bacterial, molds, spores, etc.). Finally, some bottles from every batch are retained so that these can be tested on a future date if it becomes necessary. We also periodically inspect the manufacturing facility and all of their batch records.
Q.Why does the Natural Cellular Defense sometimes look, taste or smell differently? The zeolite in the Natural Cellular Defense is an all‐natural mined product. As such, there will be some variability as to its excess mineral content (i.e. magnesium, sodium, potassium, iron, etc.). Although these are very slight variations, they can cause great differences in the taste, smell and color of the product.
Additionally, some minerals may darken in solution (i.e. iron). Because of this, some of the Natural Cellular Defense can have a brownish tint.
Q. Why is some of the product tinted brown or green? The zeolite is a naturally‐mined mineral. Because it is mined, its pigment qualities can be affected by outside elements ‐ time of year, air and water most specifically (in the spring time, there may be more rain or snow run off as opposed to the fall). The color variations of zeolite can and do range from an off‐white/beige color to a light green. Although these are very slight variations, they can cause great differences in the organoleptic properties of the product (taste and smell).
Q. Can the plastic from the bottles leach into the product? No. We use a high‐density bottle that is resistant to leaching and there are no components in the Natural Cellular Defense that are known to degrade plastic. We have had the bottle independently tested for plastic leaching and the results showed no leaching.
Q. Will heat affect the zeolite in the Natural Cellular Defense? The zeolite is an extremely stable molecule that can withstand very high temperatures (over 900 degrees Fahrenheit). Hot days will not change the product or limit its efficacy.
Q. Will cold alter the product in any way? The zeolite is completely stable at cold temperatures. If the product becomes frozen, simply defrost it and shake it lightly before using to ensure a uniform suspension of the zeolite.
Q. Can the zeolite in the Natural Cellular Defense lower potassium in the body? No. The zeolite has a very specific reactivity series. Smaller atoms with higher positive charges have greater affinity for the zeolite. Heavy metals tend to be small and highly charged while the necessary minerals tend to be larger with lower charges. For example, arsenic has a charge of +3 and a diameter of 1.8 Angstroms. Potassium only has a charge of +1 and a comparatively large diameter of 2.8 Angstroms. Arsenic has high affinity for the zeolite while potassium has almost no affinity for the zeolite.
Q. How is zeolite different from other chelators for heavy metals?A: Zeolite captures all heavy metals safely (not just lead), trapping them in a crystal cage and safely removing them from the body. You can take a few drops, a few times per day to help clean and maintain your body.
Unlike other chelators, there are no side effects as the toxins are removed. Since the toxins are trapped in the zeolite cage, they are unavailable to cause cell damage. You won't feel sick from zeolite.
Zeolite only removes toxins and leaves the good nutrients in your body. You won't feel depleted from zeolite.
Q. Why is it so important to remove the toxins first?A: Removing the toxins allows your body to work better in every way. For example, lead takes the place of calcium in your bones. When lead is removed using effective and safe liquid zeolite, the calcium you eat can be deposited in your bones making them stronger.
Q. What are toxins and what harm do they cause?A: Toxins are dangerous substances that can cause disease and damage to the body. Heavy metals such as mercury, cadmium, lead, arsenic and aluminum and other toxins from plastics, glues, paints and preservatives create a "Body Burden" that is passed from generation to generation. For the first time in history we are seeing a generation of children with higher rates of autism, cancer, asthma, auto-immune diseases, etc. which are usually associated with people much older.

Q. Why is Waiora's EDN provided as a liquid supplement?Some experts believe that liquid supplements are up to 98% absorbed versus just 10-20% of multivitamins in solid form. Absorbability (bioavailability) is key in the consumption of multivitamins. It refers to your body's ability to digest, process and absorb nutrients. Most multivitamin pills contain vitamins that are bound with fillers and stabilizers. Pure liquid vitamins are simply a suspension of ingredients, and work faster than pills due to better bioavailability. Instead of waiting for digestion, breakdown, dissolving, absorption and finally introduction into the bloodstream, liquids work quickly and do not pass through the body undigested.
Q. If I take Waiora's EDN, do I need to take anything else?Waiora’s EDN was designed to eliminate the need to take other supplements or formulas. As long as you are getting fats, protein and carbohydrates in the foods you eat, EDN will cover general health including antiaging, immune and energy support. Unless you have a very specific health issue you are trying to address, there’s no need to take anything else. Unlike most multivitamins, Waiora's EDN contains the latest advancements in nutritional research, the RDA of many critical vitamins and minerals, and the health benefits of exotic, high ORAC fruits.
Q. How much EDN do I take?Take 1 fl. oz. (two tablespoons) once a day. Because Waiora's EDN contains several key natural energy ingredients including red Korean ginseng and vitamin B complex, you should not take it at night. As with any supplement, consult your physician if you have any specific concerns.
Q. Is it okay to take more than one serving per day?While with some people it is okay to take EDN twice a day, it may not be okay for others. Some vitamin and mineral supplements on the market contain 200% -300% of the daily value and people taking them have no side effects. However with some, consuming this excess can have adverse effects - it really depends on the person's sensitivity, body weight and chemical make up. Can I take a half-dose of EDN in the morning and another half-dose in the afternoon?While you can take half a dose twice a day, you might not experience the same benefits (an energy lift) as if you took a single 1-oz serving. To maximize your product experience we recommend that you take a full one- ounce dose each day.
Q. Can I take Waiora's EDN with Natural Cellular Defense?While you can take both products daily, we do not recommend that you take them together. To maximize each product's efficacy, you should take EDN and Natural Cellular Defense one hour apart.
Q. Is Waiora's EDN safe for kids?All the ingredients are naturally derived and should not be harmful to children. However, as is the case with adults, should you have any specific questions or concerns regarding whether your child should take the product, you should consult with your child’s pediatrician.
Q. How much EDN should children take?Children ages 2-12: take one tablespoon (0.5 fl. oz.) daily. For children under 2, parents should consult their child’s pediatrician.
Q. Is Waiora's EDN safe for animals?Yes. However, as is the case with humans, should you have any specific questions or concerns regarding whether your animal should take the product or how much product should be administered, you should consult your veterinarian.
Q. What is the shelf-life of Waiora's EDN?The freshness of an unopened bottle of EDN is guaranteed for 1 year. The freshness of an opened, refrigerated bottle of EDN is guaranteed for approximately 30 days.
Q. Does Waiora's EDN need to be refrigerated?You do not need to refrigerate Waiora's EDN before using the product. However, to maximize your product experience we recommend that you serve the product cold. And like any product that contains fresh fruits or herbs, we recommend that once you open the product, you keep it refrigerated.
Q. Why are minerals important to my health and which are contained in Waiora's EDN?While the body can manufacture a few vitamins, it cannot manufacture a single mineral on its own. Without minerals, your body will not function and your health will ultimately fail. Waiora's EDN contains many minerals including chromium, iodine, manganese, molybdenum, selenium, copper, zinc, calcium, potassium, magnesium, and a blend of 60 other trace minerals to help promote nutrition and optimum health.*
Q. What are Pacific sea salts and why are they included in Waiora's EDN?Because our oceans are self-cleansing, sea minerals extracted from deep in the ocean (Pacific sea salts) are non-toxic for human, plant and animal consumption. The ocean is absolutely the only trace mineral source that receives all of the necessary trace minerals in the earth's crust. This happens because of continual erosion, from weathering and from plant growth decay. The glacier milks run into the ocean waters. Volcanic eruptions and activities associated with volcanic eruptions also add to the mineralization of the seas. Not good, but also a fact, pollution run-off from industry also add to the mineralization of the seas. Q. Waiora’s EDN provides purple power. What does that mean?Purple power refers to the rich, deep-colored fruits including acai, goji, cranberry, passion fruit and cherry found in Waiora’s EDN. These richly-colored fruits have unusually strong health benefits due to their higher antioxidant concentrations. Fruits with purple, blue or red pigments tend to be especially high in healthy polyphenols such as anthocyanins. Anthocyanins are powerful antioxidants. The darker, deeper fruits have the highest anthocyanin values, thus contributing the most potent antioxidant sources.
Q. Is Waiora's EDN 100% vegetarian?Yes. Waiora's EDN does not include fish oil or any animal by-products and is therefore considered 100% vegetarian.
Q. Is Waiora's EDN certified organic?No. Waiora's EDN is all natural. Every vitamin, mineral, herb and fruit is derived from natural sources. Since some of the fruits within the blends are derived from countries outside of the U.S. —namely Tibet and Brazil—we cannot make any organic claims about the product. In addition, each ingredient is tested for impurities—chemicals, toxins, pesticides and herbicides—to not only ensure that they are USDA & FDA compliant but also to ensure that only the purest ingredients are used.
Q. What does it mean that each ingredient in Waiora's EDN is USDA & FDA compliant?The FDA and USDA set guidelines for consumable products. Even though nutritional supplements are not regulated by the FDA and USDA, the ingredients used in EDN are in compliance. To ensure that a manufacturer's ingredients are in compliance, the FDA and USDA can randomly test a product. If the product fails, the manufacturer can be fined and/or possibly shut down. Q. What kind of testing is done on EDN to ensure efficacy? How do I know what it says on the label is what is in the product?The testing that is undertaken is extensive. To begin with, we test the ingredient extracts that go into the product, test the water quality in the mixture, and then we pull out any substances that are not good for the body. We test to make sure all of the vitamins and all of the minerals in the liquid formulation are what is in the product and on the label. Further, we test the efficacy and safety of all of the fruits - we actually break down all the fruits and do sugar tests and we check the carbohydrate content. Then we put the product through stability testing.
Q. What is "stability testing?"We take bottles that have been mixed and filled, heat them in ovens and then chill them. It's called freeze thawing. We then test for the vitamins, the minerals and other key components to see what it is in the product. This helps us to examine and ensure that what is in the product on day one is also in the product in month six. We check to see if the sugar content has broken down, has the color broken down, has the product held up during the heating and freezing process so that the vitamins that are in there have a long shelf life.
Q. What sweeteners/sugars does Waiora's EDN use? Are they natural?The product contains sweeteners derived from natural sources in the whole-food fruit base (including pineapple, mango, cherry, passion fruit, and cranberry), and are complemented by stevia—an all natural, non-caloric South American herb, and agave nectar- an all natural sweetener extracted from the agave plant, a cactus-like plant that has been used by Native Americans for thousands of years. Agave nectar has a very low glycemic index, which helps keep blood sugar levels in balance.*
Q. The label says six grams of sugar. Where does that sugar come from?The sugar in the product comes from all natural sources. The FDA states you have to put the amount of sugar per serving that your body will consume. However, it doesn't differentiate between added artificial sugars and the natural sugars that come from fruits (like Goji or Acai). The sugar in EDN is all natural.
Q. Where does the folic acid in Waiora's EDN come from?Like the other vitamins contained in EDN, folic acid (also known as vitamin B9) is derived from natural fruit and herb sources. For instance, the natural fruit included in EDN: pineapple, apple, cherry, passion fruit, and mango as well as the Maitake mushroom each provide great sources of folic acid.
Q. What is the source of the B12 vitamins in EDN?The vitamin B12 in Waiora's EDN is derived from a non-animal fermentation process. It IS NOT from an animal source.
Q. How does Waiora keep EDN fresh?Naturally derived citric acid (from limes) and potassium sorbate (from stevia and other fruit sources) serve as natural preservatives to keep Waiora's EDN fresh. Both have been used for decades by food and beverage manufacturers and are recognized as safe by the FDA.
Q. Why does the product appear cloudy?The high mineral content of Waiora's EDN contributes to the cloudy appearance of the blend. It contains chromium, copper, iodine, manganese, molybdenum, selenium, zinc, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and more than 60 trace minerals from Pacific sea salt.
Q. What is the stuff at the bottom of the bottle?Any product that is comprised of a blend of ingredients (including natural fruit sources and minerals) will inevitably result in some visual residue that appears on the bottom of the bottle. This separation is completely normal. Simply shake well and serve.
Q. What’s the difference between "flash pasteurization" and "kettle cook?"All liquid products made from natural, living ingredients are prone to bacterial growth. To help ensure that products do not contain bacteria, they are put through a process of heating (also called pasteurization).
However, the process of heating can not only alter the taste, it may also diminish the nutrients contained in the product. Other products are "kettle cooked" which greatly diminishes the nutritional value of the finished product. The best way to ensure that key nutrients are not destroyed is to quickly heat and then chill the product. This process is called "flash pasteurization."
Waiora's EDN product is flash pasteurized. Additionally, nutrient values are tested after production to ensure they meet label claims. The product is quickly heated and cooled to eliminate any bacteria, yet maintains the full nutrient profile.

Q. What is 3 Beta‐acetoxyandrost‐5‐en‐7, 17‐dione? 3 Beta‐acetoxyandrost‐5‐en‐7, 17‐dione (3‐BETA), is a natural substance produced by the body in our adrenal glands. Scientists and physicians believe 3‐BETA plays an important role in up‐regulating key thermogenic enzymes in the body, thereby enhancing resting metabolic rate.
Q. Is 3‐BETA a new compound? 3-BETA, a naturally‐derived metabolite, was discovered in human urine in 1958. There have been more than 50 years and $60 million invested in research and 175 patents developed on 3‐BETA.
Q. What is the difference between 3‐BETA and DHEA? 3‐BETA is a natural metabolite that is produced in the body from DHEA. Research scientists at the University of Wisconsin isolated the metabolite of the DHEA and developed a method to produce it. Like DHEA, the levels of 3‐BETA decline with age. 3‐BETA is chemically distinct from DHEA and they are two completely different chemical entities.
